What is accepted, when you pay, and what stays for the counter
We do not take payments ourselves. Reservations are paid on the platform of our booking partner, Discover Cars, and the remaining balance, if any, is settled with the supplier at pick-up. This page explains both steps so there are no surprises at the desk.
Reservations are charged in the currency shown in your search - offers on this site are quoted in euro by default, and other currencies can be selected in the search form. Your bank may apply its own conversion rate if your card is issued in another currency.
Offers come in two shapes, and the search results label which one you are looking at:
| Type | Paid online | Paid at the counter |
|---|---|---|
| Pay now | The full rental amount | Nothing for the rental itself - only extras you add on the spot |
| Pay part now | A prepayment that secures the booking | The remaining balance, plus any extras |
Both types are confirmed instantly by e-mail and both come with a voucher that states the exact amounts.
The deposit is not a payment - it is an amount the supplier blocks on the main driver's card at pick-up and releases after the car comes back undamaged. It is set by the supplier, not by us, and it is shown on every offer before you book. Many suppliers ask for a credit card in the main driver's name for this block; some accept a debit card, and a share of offers require no deposit at all. Filter the results by No deposit or Low deposit if this matters for your trip, and read the offer conditions before confirming.
Refunds for cancelled reservations are processed by the booking partner to the card used for the original payment, according to the cancellation terms of the offer you selected. The receipt for the rental itself is issued by the supplier at the counter. If you need help locating either, write to us through our contact page and we will point you to the right contact.
